African Red Rooibos Herbal Tisane

Rooibos, also commonly known as 'redbush' tea, is endemic to a small area in Western Cape province of South Africa. Consumed by locals, dutch settlers warmed up to it as a replacement to Black tea which at that time was highly prohibitive and difficult to come by.  As a fresh leaf, rooibos contains ascorbic acid (Vitamin C); it does not contain caffeine and tannin content is lower compared to black or green teas.
